Alaska Hunting Professional Guide Services

Greg Stewart
Owner/Outfitter/Registered Guide #228830
Greg always thought of Alaska as the pinnacle of all hunting and adventure. From a young age, it was hunting that introduced him to seeking those adventures. He grew up in Colorado, climbing mountains to chase Elk and Mule Deer, while trying to find places most wouldn’t go. He got his start guiding in Colorado before heading North and for the past 18 years he’s had the opportunity of taking clients on their dream hunts.
With great success, clients have achieved the dream they set out to accomplish with Greg. Whether it’s Sheep, Moose, Brown Bear, or a one of a kind Caribou, he wants it to be the best hunting experience you’ve ever had. Many of his clients have returned year after year in pursuit of all Alaska has to offer.
His true love is long walks through the thick brush, Frost on the ground, being up to his hips in swamp mud, climbing steep scree slopes, and watching fog and rain pass from a tent vestibule.

Daniel “Danny” Wright
Owner/Outfitter/Registered Guide #179114
Danny has been guiding professionally for 16 years. He started off his carrier in British Columbia, Canada, where he cut his teeth in the Peace River Region and Northern Canadian Rockies taking clients on exceptionally long and exciting expeditions, both on foot and horseback, to purse their hunting ambitions in this wild land. 4 years later, he was accepted by Steve Johnson to join his outfit in Alaska and continue taking hunters on the chase for the remarkable trophies of the last frontier. During this time he received his outfitters license and opened up a new area for Ultimate Alaskan Adventures on Kodiak Island for Brown Bears and Roosevelt Elk. After 12 years and now part owner, the commitment he has to providing clients with outstanding hunting in successful areas is unwavering.

Mike Dorsey
Guide #7603
Hello I’m Michael Dorsey I fell in love with the outdoors in Nebraska as many young men do when I was a just a boy learning how to set my tent and go on camping and canoeing trips with my father and friends. I spent most of my fall months hunting upland game birds, rabbit, waterfowl, and when I was 12 I started hunting deer and antelope. I’ve been hunting and enjoying the outdoors in Alaska since 1996. I started packing then and didn’t start guiding until 2014. It has been a true joy in my life taking hunters out into the wilds of Alaska from hunting Bear, Moose, Caribou, Sheep, Goat, Sitka Deer, Wolf, Lynx, and Wolverine over the years. Enjoying the sweet taste of success and defeat in the bush, working hard to ensure every hunter has a great experience during their hunt. Every hunt brings new challenges and enjoyment. I look forward to each hunting season with great anticipation and enthusiasm.

Steve Johnson
Founder 1964 – 2024
A tribute to Ultimate Alaskan Adventures founder and Master Guide, Steve Johnson.
Steve had been hunting in Alaska since 1988 after growing up hunting in Minnesota and serving in the military as a submariner and also as a Navy Corpsman attached to a specialized Marine Corp Reconnaissance Unit. He came to Alaska for the tremendous outdoor opportunities and for the adventure of Alaskan hunting. He envisioned starting his own different kind of outfitting service from what he had experienced in the past. One that truly put the clients first and strives above all odds to get his hunters that trophy they have dreamed about for a lifetime. To accomplish this task, he hand picked and extensively trained a select few to be his guides, ones that still guide for the Outfit now. He choose specific areas throughout Alaska and prepared the locations with lodges, cabins, and designated campsites where the best chances of success could be found. Over 21 years later, these locations are still being used to this day. His extensive hunting and guiding background created impressive success rates and long lasting friendships which kept Steve’s clients returning to Alaska to hunt with him year after year. With this two decade long history of Ultimate Alaskan Adventures he created the motto; “Reputation, Experience, Results.” which is still adhered to throughout every season.
He was a Husband, Father, Brother, Friend, and Mentor. He will be missed.
“Us guides that spent countless days and months by Steve in the mountains every season seemed to always try and emulate how he handled every situation; whether the approach he used playing chess with sheep or friendly client interaction by always doing the right thing by them, we came up with a saying. “What would Johnson do.” This has been secretly said in the minds of all us guides whenever there was question, doubt, or conflict, and it has seemed to always help us prevail. For the Mentor and friend he was to all of us, we humbly move forward with this outfit, never forgetting its founder, and preserving the Johnson Legacy with every hunt we do.”
