Kodiak Island Roosevelt Elk

This is a very competitive draw hunt area; applications need to be submitted through us during the entry period of November-December of the year before you plan to hunt.  If drawn, you are in for an adventure of a lifetime.  Imagine seeing a couple hundred head of elk on a sandy beach, eating kelp, and walking through saltwater as it washes up on shore.  These prehistoric bodies and exceptional large mass antlers are indicative to this unique specie of elk.  We hunt these elk during the rut on the island with everything you can expect from that time of year.  These elk derive from the transplants relocated from Washington State in 1928 to Afognak Island in 1929.  The herd has flourished since that time and is producing many top Boone & Crockett/Pope & Young class trophies.  It’s truly an exciting elk hunt which can be conducted by float plane or boat with a comfortable tent camp spot-and-stalk hunt.
